Designed and 3D-printed a fully articulated prosthetic arm exploring biomechanics, CAD, and accessible assistive tech for under $50. Tendon-driven fingers (MG995) + independent thumb (MG90S), Arduino Uno control. Published on Instructables with STL files.
Functional 5-DOF grasping prototype; Instructables publication + public STL download; total BOM under $50 vs. commercial five-figure devices.
Hardware that serves people: cost, reliability, and open documentation as product decisions, not just maker flex.
Tendon stretch, servo current limits, and joint alignment forced iterative mechanical redesign — textbook engineering loop under tight cost constraints.
